In this session, participants will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools can support school-based occupational therapy (OT) assessments, interventions, and documentation processes. By utilizing AI to minimize paperwork hours, we can maximize time spent with students. This session will cover current and emerging research, including insights into school-based occupational therapy practitioners' perceptions of AI use in their field and what it will take to support OT practitioners’ use of AI in OT settings. We will also discuss ethical consider-ations and practical applications for AI in school-based occupational therapy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify at least three applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school-based occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and documentation.
  • Understand the findings of research on school-based occupational therapy practitioners’ perceptions of AI use, exploring how these insights can inform effective implementation.
